Sunday, September 19th
I've decided to post the rest of my trip as a daily journal, Enjoy!
The Agape Children's Ministry campus is an incredible place to be.
Their worship, is unbelievable.
Just me, few of us have seen faith like these 90 boys. They sing many of their songs in Kiswahili, their national language. It's fun to just stand and listen to God speaking through these young boys.
As they sing, they clap. It's not just clapping though, they bang, they smush, they smack and squish their hands together violently and fast. The sound coming forth resembles metal hitting metal yet, nothing's in their hands. Quite crazy, yet joyful and fun. I will miss it.
The message given was what we'd know as a Sunday school Bible story, yet, so much more profound. I'll never forget the repeated verse and message, I'm sure of it.
John 10:11 ("it says") "I am the GOOD Shepard, the good Shepard lays his life down for his sheep."
All of these boys at Agape are street boys. Meaning, their family situation has either forced them to leave or they've chosen that life instead of their family's. Some are also orphans. They were most likely glue sniffers, or drug addicts. They've suffered more abuse at a young age then most of us probably ever.
Isn't it incredible how God plucked them out of each and every situation and enabled them to live at Agape? I think so.
Blake & Ester Gibbs are awesome people doing the Lord's work.
There's so much to learn from them.
